Cheap holidays to Skiathos

Beach lovers need look no further than Skiathos to be in paradise offering over 60 stunning sandy bays and beaches which are dotted around its coastline, which is pretty amamzing as the island is only 4 miles wide by 7 miles long. Nightlife has an upmarket chic feel and attracts couples and families, it is unusual to find young lager lout types on the island as there is nothing here to entice them making it a great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing break and a sophisticated social scene. 
If you're looking for an all over tan head for Banana beach where you can be as mother nature intended, this is nearby the breathtaking Koukounaries Beach a mile long stretch of golden sands edged by pine forests, one of the best on the island.

The upmarket waterfront bars and boutiques of Skiathos Town are definatley worth a visit, browse designer labels then quench your thirst at a trendy harbour side bar, this is the livliest resort on the island and has many bars and discos, it is also where you come to catch the ferry to other islands or maybe one of Skiathos' many secluded beaches. All other resorts in Skiathos such as Kolios, Troulos and Achladies are peaceful,traditional and unspoilt making any of them an ideal place to visit if a relaxing beach holiday is what you are looking for, nighlife in these areas revolves mainly around a handful of tavernas and restaurants. Watersports are available, the best place to find these are in Troulos which has a good selection of pretty sandy beaches, with warm shallow waters also making it a great place for people with young children.

For getting around look no further than the local bus service which is both reliable and cheap, if you want to get off the beaten track hire a moped and explore some of the tiny villages not yet reached by tourism, or visit hidden valleys, caves which are waiting to be explored and historic archaeological sites. The boat trip to Skopelos is definatley worth putting on your list of what to do, board the boat from Skiathos harbour, watching for Dolphins in the sparkling blue seas as you sail to your destination while the friendly crew give a commentry. Once on land meander the cobbled streets of Skopelos and pick up some local handicrafts, antiques or Greek art then find a shady spot outside a local taverna to quench your thirst with a local cold beer. If you have good sea legs then another popular trip is to Lalaria, reputedly one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see where the sea is bluer than blue and the only way to get here is by boat. Explore secret passages and scramble over the rocks before cooling off in the crystal clear waters.
