Once a quiet fishing village Hurghada has now grown into a resort that has plenty to offer, with crystal clear waters, reefs just waiting to be explored, lively bazaars and year round sunshine no wonder holiday makers flock here in their thousands. There is an abundance of hotels from the basic guest house to plush 5 star which is what much of the accomodation is here. Known for having some of the best diving in the world, many people come here especially to visit a small group of islands just a few hours away from the hotel zone, there you can find dive sites that will astound even the most experienced divers. On an evening Hurghada really comes to life, its a great place for the younger generation to visit with its many bars and discos, although many of the discos are housed in the larger hotels. If you fancy a change from the hotel food then there are many international restaurants where you can try delicious foods from Korean to Kebabs all at very reasonable prices. For anyone who likes a bargain then you must visit one of the bedouin tents where you can haggle for silks and hand woven carpets or maybe visit one of the perfume shops where you can have a perfume made especially for you. Gold and leather goods are also a great buy, make sure you use your skills and barter to get the best price possible. The beaches here are amazing and the focal point of most visitors holiday, many of the hotels have long private sandy beaches offering great facilites meaning you never have to wonder far from your sunlounger. For a change of scenary why not try a memorable trip to Cairo or Luxor where there are some amazing sites, such as the awe inspiring Pyramids.
