This old fishing village is increasing in its poplularity within the tourist industry on a rapid scale, it is envisaged that over the next few years it will become as popular as Sharm El Shekh. Its location on the Red Sea makes a perfect place for the holiday maker, with all year round sunshine and some amazing coral reefs making it a prime dive location. Its beaches are some of the best Egypt has to offer with fine golden sands that reach out to cool, crystal clear waters making them a great place to spend the day topping up your tan or even having a go at one of the watersports on offer.

Diving is the main attraction and there are many dive schools dotted around the resort where you can book trips or take lessons. Some extremely rare breeds can be found off these shores, some of the species of shark cannot be found anywhere else in the world, a fantastic opportunity for the more experienced diver. For the less experienced why not try a spot of snorkeling with the dolphins, something everybody would love to do I'm sure. If the sea does not entice you then maybe you would prefer a desert adventure, hop aboard a quad bike or motor bike and feel the wind in your hair as you head over the sands taking in the stunning scenary as you manouvere between rocks, you can even spend the night out in the dunes in a bedouin tent and watch the sun rise adding to the romantic feel, this would be an ideal place for a honeymoon if you wanted something a little different.

The evenings here can get pretty lively so make sure you snatch 40 winks on an afternoon while lazing on your sunbed. There a a few night clubs to choose from, even a tent on the beach which serves drinks and traditional Egyptian meals, once a week there is a traditional Egyptian night with belly dancers. There are several beach discos where you can dance your cares away while feeling the sand between your toes.
