Many of the visitors to Mykonos are young and gay attracted by the busy cosmopolitan nightlife, non stop parties and the golden sandy beaches made famous by the film "Shirley Valentine". It was once the favourite holiday destination of politicains, artists and high fliers such as Grace Kelly, Brigit Bardot and Aristotles Onasis, a handful of the celebrities who visited the island on a regular basis.

Most of the great nightlife takes place in Mykonos town, pretty white washed cube shaped houses are scattered amongst narrow winding streets where you can easily loose your way, which is part of the fun of visiting this enchanting resort. Take a stroll around the busy harbour area before heading off to window shop in the chic boutiques, or grab a cold beer from one of the many trendy bars. As the night closes in Mykonos Town starts to really come alive, and you can dance your cares away until early morning. If you have come for relaxation then any of the other tourist resorts will cater for your needs, Ornos, Glastros or Aghios Yiannis all have stunning sandy beaches where you can top up your tan before heading to the local taverna for a quiet bite to eat while watching the beautiful sun set.

A trip to one of the many beaches is the main way of spending your holiday in Mykonos, the livliest been Paradise Beach home to the Tropicana Beach Bar where at around 5pm every evening the music starts and goes on until well after the sun has set, in July and August watch out for big name DJ's such as Sasha and Carl Cox.
