Cheap Holidays to Paros

No longer just somewhere to stop off while you change ferries, Paros is now a holiday resort in its own right and is a paradise for hikers, watersport enthusiasts, foodies and anyone who enjoys a good night out. Offering a great variety of restaurants serving some of the best fish you are ever likely to sample, and nightlife to rival that of Mykonos there is something here to please every taste. The clean, sandy beaches offer scuba diving and snorkelling, and fantastic conditions for windsurfing and plays host to the world champsionships every year.

The islands capital is Parikia is set in one of the two bays in Paros,and home to the main harbour where regular ferries, catamarans and flying dolphins come to shore on a regular basis, serving most of the surrounding Greek islands. Nightlife revolves around a couple of music bars in Parika, there is more on offer in Nassoua a pretty little village with whitewashed houses and a quaint harbour area is set in the second bay and is definatly worth a visit if only to stroll along the beautiful beach.

To the South of the island you will find enchanting traditional villages such as of Marpissa and Drios, here you will discover stunning sandy beaches and pretty fishing ports, making this area one of the most beautiful on Paros.

There are many beach side bars on the island most of which offer traditional Greek cuisine, mussels and lobster are also on many menus all at comparatively cheap prices. If you don't see anything on the menu that you fancy ask to be recommended the meal of the day that way get freshly made local dishes that you wouldn't have otherwise tried. To start the meal the Greeks usually order enough starters for everyone meaning there is usually an excellent choice but on many occaisions this can lead to eating so many starters that you are too full for a main course,
